Question 1

What is Vegius?

Accepted Answer

Vegius is a sanctuary-first vegan platform: a sanctuary for sanctuaries. It brings together vegan discovery, practical tools, travel planning and connections with animal sanctuaries. Travel is one part of a wider mission to support rescued animals and more compassionate choices.

Question 2

How much does Vegius cost?

Accepted Answer

You can browse public sanctuary information without buying a travel plan. Check the relevant service for current paid-plan, subscription or booking-fee details before committing; this FAQ is not a price offer. Help sanctuaries give rescued animals a safe, caring home. Paid plans, subscriptions, booking fees, ticket sales, and other revenue support this mission. After covering operating costs, 100% of any surplus goes to partner sanctuaries.

Question 3

What can the Travel Companion help me plan?

Accepted Answer

The Travel Companion helps you explore destinations and build an itinerary around your food preferences, interests and travel style. Use it as a starting point for places to eat, stay and explore, then confirm practical details with the providers.

Question 4

Do I have to be vegan to use Vegius?

Accepted Answer

No. Vegius welcomes anyone interested in more compassionate food, travel and everyday choices. You can explore vegan options and learn about sanctuaries without already being vegan.

Question 5

Do I need an account?

Accepted Answer

You can explore the public pages and sanctuary profiles without signing in. Personal Travel Companion tools and saved trip plans require an account. Follow the sign-up prompts for the feature you want to use.

Question 6

How does Vegius support animal sanctuaries?

Accepted Answer

Help sanctuaries give rescued animals a safe, caring home. Paid plans, subscriptions, booking fees, ticket sales, and other revenue support this mission. After covering operating costs, 100% of any surplus goes to partner sanctuaries. Our partner community is growing. Visit Our Impact and the Transparency Pledge to understand our commitments; do not treat projected support as a confirmed payment to a sanctuary.

Question 7

Does the Travel Companion book travel for me?

Accepted Answer

Not currently. The Travel Companion helps you plan your trip and find providers, but does not make bookings for you. That will change when the Traveler Marketplace opens on December 1, 2026, introducing booking options for stays, events and experiences.

Question 8

Can I rely on every AI recommendation?

Accepted Answer

No AI tool is infallible. Recommendations are planning suggestions, not guarantees. Check opening hours, menus, locations and suitability before travelling. Vegius aims to complement human ethical travel agents and local expertise, not replace them.

Question 9

When does the Traveler Marketplace open?

Accepted Answer

The Traveler Marketplace is Stage 2 of Vegius, opening December 1, 2026, for stays, events and experiences. It builds on the Travel Companion, which is available now. Do not treat Marketplace previews as live bookable listings.

Question 10

Can I plan around my vegan and ethical preferences?

Accepted Answer

Tell the Travel Companion your dietary preferences, exclusions, interests and priorities. Review its suggestions against those needs. Information can be incomplete or change, so confirm important details with each venue rather than treating a recommendation as a guarantee.

Question 11

Are all listed venues entirely vegan?

Accepted Answer

Do not assume so. A vegan-friendly listing or a search category does not prove that the whole venue or menu is vegan. Check the available evidence and current menu, and ask the venue directly if a fully vegan setting matters to you.

Question 12

Which languages can I use?

Accepted Answer

Public pages support English, French, Spanish, German, Simplified Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, Hindi, Italian, Dutch and Japanese. Use the language selector. Some account or Travel Companion screens may still use English; translated sanctuary stories depend on saved translations or translation-service availability.

Question 13

How does Vegius approach the environmental impact of AI?

Accepted Answer

AI uses electricity, cooling water and hardware, and its impact is not zero. We have not measured the full footprint of a Vegius itinerary and do not claim guaranteed environmental savings or food equivalents. Read the Statement on AI use for our approach and the role of human expertise.

Question 14

Can Vegius guarantee allergy-safe food?

Accepted Answer

No. Vegan does not mean allergen-free, and neither AI suggestions nor an ingredient scan can establish that food is safe for you. For allergies or medical dietary needs, ask the venue or manufacturer about ingredients, preparation and cross-contact before eating.

Question 15

Can I visit a partner sanctuary?

Accepted Answer

Contact the sanctuary directly before making plans. Opening arrangements, accessibility and volunteer opportunities vary, and animal welfare comes first. Approximate map pins are not visitor entrances or permission to arrive; exact sites may be kept private for safety.

Question 16

Where does a donation made through a sanctuary link go?

Accepted Answer

The donation links on sanctuary profiles open the sanctuary's own website or donation provider. Follow that provider's payment and receipt process. Vegius does not process or hold those profile-link donations; these are separate from our commitment to share operating surplus.

Question 17

What do the animal profiles tell me?

Accepted Answer

Resident profiles introduce individual animals through their rescue stories, personalities and updates when available. A support link may help the sanctuary as a whole; it is not a promise of exclusive sponsorship, ownership, a visit or a particular use of funds.

Question 18

What can the ingredient scanner do?

Accepted Answer

The scanner can help you interpret an ingredient label and flag possible concerns. Image quality, language and incomplete labels can affect results. Check the original packaging and contact the manufacturer if anything is unclear; it is not a certification or medical safety check.

Question 19

How can I manage my privacy?

Accepted Answer

Read the Privacy Policy for how information is handled and use Privacy Settings to review your available choices or request help with your rights. Avoid putting sensitive personal information into AI prompts or public reviews.

Question 20

How do I report a mistake or ask for help?

Accepted Answer

Email support@vegius.com with the page or feature, what went wrong and any useful non-sensitive details. For a sanctuary visit, booking or direct donation, contact the sanctuary or payment provider responsible for that arrangement.
