When Faik Bouhrik, the founder of Vegius, became vegan in 2018, he noticed something troubling. Animal sanctuaries, despite their compassion and dedication, were constantly struggling for funding.
Sanctuaries exist to heal. They give abandoned, abused, and forgotten animals a second chance at life. But while their hearts are full, their resources often are not.
Vegius was born from a simple question:
What if our everyday choices could help sustain the sanctuaries caring for animals who need it most?
Today, Vegius is a vegan platform with animal sanctuaries at its heart. It connects people with vegan-friendly places, practical tools, and the stories of rescued animals. From finding vegan food nearby and making informed choices to planning a journey with our Travel Companion, Vegius supports compassionate living at home and away.
Travel is one part of that mission, not the whole of it. Our planned Traveler Marketplace will expand the platform with stays, events, and experiences, creating more ways for people and businesses to take part.

After covering operating costs, 100% of any surplus goes to partner sanctuaries. Supporting the animals and the people who care for them is not an extra feature. It is why Vegius exists.
