Arriving at the Rio Zamora River, we cross a small bridge (can fit smaller cars but not trucks) and then walk (12min) or drive (2min) up a private road to Vegan Beasts Sanctuary and Homestead Food Forest. There is a gate at the entrance to the private homestead, located in the serene mountains near the Amazon rainforest.
Vegan Beasts Sanctuary used to be cow pasture, that was purchased and developed into a fruitful food forest 7 years ago. We have bananas, papayas, watermelons, meringues, tomatoes, greens, beans, potatoes and so much more, growing on the land.
We also have a weekly food market just across the bridge where local farmers bring fresh produce including fresh beans, green, fruits and veggies.

We are located 4.5 hours from the metropolitan city of Cuenca and about 4 hours from the city of Loja. A very small town called Chuchumbleza is a 15minute walk away, here there is one restaurant, and a few small shops for provisions. There are also a few spas in the area with the closest one only 4 min drive from the bridge.
It consists of a steam room, whirl pool and a pool with slides and water fall. The restaurant on site can also make a generous vegan salad upon request.

There is the larger towns of El Pangui (10min drive) and Gualaquiza (25min drive) that are easy to access via bus, taxi, car or motorbike.

We are located in a vegan community, so our neighbours are also vegan.

We are looking for renters and / or volunteers to stay with us and learn about agroforestry, we have drum circles and music jam nights where we make bon fires and dance and play music with other community members.
There are several beautiful waterfalls near by to go and play in as well. Truly a paradise for your stay in Ecuador.

Xara is a pole dance and yoga instructor and Nik is a martial arts instructor, we are also both personal trainers, specializing in corrective conditioning. We have an outdoor sheltered gym setup on the property. Training and classes can be available upon request. As well as massotherapy, and aesthetician services.

Feel free to reach out if you have further questions, we’d love to hear from you.
10 minute walk (3min drive) down hill you arrive at a bridge that leads to the very small local town of Chuchumbletza. Here there is one nice little restaurant that offers vegan options such as lentil stew, yuca cakes, guacamole and nachos, rice and beans, as well as teas and other beverages. There are a few local shops with provisions like fruit, veggies, whole grains and dry legumes. As well as soap, candles, toothbrushes and other essentials.

There is a stadium in the Center of the town where games of volleyball and soccer take place regularly. As well as contrubution based martial arts classes non-Thursdays offered by Nik. With locals attending and also people from the vegan Community of fruit haven.

There are many beautiful beach spots along and rear by the roads going towards the towns of El Pangui and Gualaquiza. There are also many waterfalls and other tourist attractions including treehouses, zip lines, caves, mountain hiking and spas.
There is very little crime in the region and it is one of the safest places in Ecuador and South America to visit. The people are incredibly friendly and always happy to help. Shop keepers are not pushy and it it a very nice experience going to the market. There is a large fruit market in the town of Gualaquiza, particularly on Saturday mornings. However we tend to get most of our produce on Fridays at the smaller market near the bridge just a few minutes from our home.

Food is very cheap, a rack of bananas ranges from 2-7$
Papayas large ones are about 1$ grenadilla are 5 for 1$, tomatoes 0.50$ per pound, lentils 1$/pound etc.
You can easily eat for under 20$ per week.

The waterfalls are a huge attraction and there are many near by, one 5 minutes walk, a larger one 30 minute walk, another 2 waterfalls that are about 20min Ute walk from our property.
We also have a stream source and clay mud pond on our property, the clay does wonders for the skin.
We have motorbike and quad vehicle for transportation at a small fee if requested.
Like, comment, subscribe! We’d love to hear from you! Coming soon! We are working on a video showcasing the updated lot and camping space.
