There is a successful Grey Seal colony at Winterton and Horsey and you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of them swimming close to the shoreline when walking along the beaches. We are just 8 miles from the famous Norfolk Broads, 9 miles from the bright lights of Great Yarmouth and 23 miles from the beautiful historic city of Norwich. Nature reserves at Hickling, Martham Broad and How Hill are close by. Boat trips can be taken from several local villages, Hickling, Horsey, Wroxham and Horning to name a few. A little further afield heading towards North Norfolk is the vegan animal sanctuary Hillside, The nature reserve at Cley Next the Sea, picturesque Wells Next the Sea, the seaside towns of Cromer and Sheringham and many more interesting towns and villages.
Locally to the chalet, there are several restaurants and cafes, most of which have vegan choices on their menus, some have a dedicated vegan menu and there are some totally vegan cafes and restaurants, especially in Norwich. The vast majority of restaurants and cafes are very dog friendly.
