Ananda Animal Sanctuary: The Sheep Shack
An upgrade from camping, enjoy our wee cabin/shepherds hut nestled in the heart of the animal sanctuary surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Rustic and basic glamping but if you love animals, nature and getting back to basics we know youll enjoy this experience. The sheep and cow barn is directly in front of your cabin so you have friendly neighbours 🙂
For a wee bit of luxury you have access to the hot tub just 20m from your cabin.
House rules
Respect the animals and don't go into animal paddocks.
The space
The cabin has a double bed and a small double sofa bed so can sleep up to 4.
Its completely off grid so your lights are battery powered and currently there is no heating but we do provide hot water bottles.
You have access to a facilities caravan which has a toilet, cold shower, cooker and sink for doing dishes. You have private use of this in the evening/during the night, the only time it is shared is during day as the volunteers use it for their break.
Things to know
You are free to walk around certain parts of the sanctuary and say hi to the animals, we will explain this on your arrival when we show you around.
Please note the hot tub may be shared as we have one other accomodation unit (if both are booked we will schedule the hot tub use).
Please note there is no public transport.
Neighborhood
Lots of surrounding countryside to enjoy walks. The nearest village is Biggar or Carnwath which is 4 miles away. Biggar is a lovely village with a couple shops and pubs.
What an amazing experience, me and my daughter had the best time and made memories for a life time, Steve the host was fantastic and let us bottle feed the lambs and help put the animals to bed, magical experience, will definitely come back 😍
