Vegan Travel – When Cooking and Vegan Restaurants Are Not an Option

Of course it would be ideal to be in a vegan city like London, or Los Angeles, or Sydney. But, if you have an adventurous spirit, you are eventually going to find yourself in locations that are not so vegan-friendly. Other than raw ingredients, vegan grocery items may be few and far between. Not to mention the time and frustration that may go into finding a vegan-friendly restaurant. So, if you are van lifeing it, camping, or just staying in a hotel, you need to improvise!

Some Quick and Easy Ways for Vegan Meal

Here are some raw vegan meals and quick snacks we recommend if you are in a situation like this, so you never go hungry!

Raw Vegan Travel Meals

1. Peanut Butter and Jam

That’s right, let’s get back to the classics, and one of our all-time favorites!! Find yourself some hardy wheat bread, and a jar of nut butter and your favorite jam. You can pack sandwiches for hikes, long days out exploring, or a quick snack before bed!

2. Refreshing Bean Salad

You can find canned beans in almost every country! You can create a beautiful protein-packed bean salad by mixing together a couple types of beans, raw and chopped onion, tomato, cilantro, a drizzle of olive oil, and a squeeze of lemon with salt and pepper! Yum!! Add in some corn chips or corn tortillas if you can find some for a quick burrito or nacho bowl.

3. Hearty Salad

A great vegan option when you can’t cook! And it doesn’t have to be boring. Load on local greens, peppers, chickpeas, fruits, nuts, seeds, and more!! Make it colorful and delicious!

Easy Vegan Snacks On-The-Go

1. Dates with Peanut Butter and Dark Chocolate

Dates are pretty universal and can be found in most places, which is great news for vegan travelers! Stuff some peanut butter and dark chocolate in a split date and enjoy!! This snack will keep your rumbling tummy full for at least a couple hours!

2. Veggies with Hummus

Indulge in some delicious hummus when you can find it!! Cut up some carrots, cucumbers, and celery and get dippin’!

3. We are Nuts for Nuts!!

Taking your vegan holiday to the next level? Maybe you need to load up on some protein before a hike, a skiing trip, or some other outdoor adventure! Well, one of the best vegan snacks for you is homemade trail mix! Pick some of your favorite nuts, seeds, dried fruit, and mix it all together!
