Rooterville Animal Sanctuary: Family Covered Wagon Glamping
This is the experience of a lifetime for our vegan friends! Our beautiful wagons give you a comfy, fun place to relax and rejuvenate while being surrounded by nature and lots of rescued animals. Totally unique, totally worth it! Weekends we will be open to visitors so you'll have to share the sanctuary with them from 10AM til 2PM Sat & Sun. The wagons are in a private area of the sanctuary far far away from the cares of the world. Come and join us for an amazing stay and see the work we're doing helping people make that connection between the animal and the menu option.
The space

Our wagons overlook our beautiful pond and you can feed the fish and turtles! Peaceful, surrounded by woods and nature, you can relax and enjoy the sanctuary or venture off to any of the nearby parks, lakes, springs or locations: Gainesville, Jacksonville, St Augustine, Ocala, Palatka and more! There's plenty to do within an hour's drive.
We have a butterfly garden with a bee hive with a full length window for visitors to enjoy too!
You'll have everything you need, if anything is missing, just ask! We will do your laundry for $10 per load if needed too. WIfi is spotty, so are cell signals. Don't count on having them unless you come up close to our office.

Things to know
Sanctuaries are struggling to stay open to do the important work we do. We are flooded with calls every day to help animals that have no where else to turn. You can help by supporting us with your generosity when you stay. Shop in our gift shop, shop online for gifts too at www.thepinkpigs.com! Your support can mean life or death for animals. Sanctuaries need people to get involved to keep them viable, its so sad that more support isn't there for people willing to work so hard to help animals and make a difference. Let's change that!
Neighborhood
Melrose is a rural, quiet little town. There are restaurants and fast food places, most will make vegan options for you. Gainesville and Jacksonville are near enough to drive to and find great vegan food. There is a butterfly garden and bat houses in Gainesville, lots of creeks, parks and nature get aways there too. High Springs is great for tubing. Our lakes offer swimming/boating and more!
