Tribe Animal Sanctuary Scotland: A Cozy Hut!
cute hut with double bed up the ladder, and a fold out settee downstairs. The hut is on the grounds of our vegan sanctuary, but you have your own area. Visitors get an hour long tour of the sanctuary (except Tuesdays and Wednesdays, when we have other commitments and don't have time) where they can meet the animals, and there are usually animals next to the hut, and you can look out over the paddock.
There's a fire pit, picnic table with large umbrella and parking for your car.
There is a train station a short taxi ride away, and a great Indian restaurant with a vegan menu in walking distance. Lots of beautiful walks in the area

Neighborhood
the sanctuary is in a semi rural location at the end of a country lane, in the beautiful Clyde Valley. We are a 40 drive from Glasgow, and an hour from Edinburgh.
The river Clyde has a wonderful walkway along it, perfect for hikes. There are garden centres and an adventure park for kids a short drive away, but we also recommend just relaxing at the hut and seeing if any animals come to visit you.
The wildlife is varied, deer, hare, buzzards, swallows, foxes, badgers, bats, rabbits, etc all call the trees surrounding the sanctuary their home, maybe you can spot some!
The map below is not our exact location, but you will be sent detailed directions once booked in
I have a fantastic time staying at the sanctuary, next time will be my 3rd visit. Every morning when I open the door or the hut Alice the chicken runs up to say hello and sits next to me on the sofa. Francisco the pig melts my heart also his new girlfriend Summer. I would highly recommend The Tribes animal sanctuary to visit. I'll keep going back I just love it. Thank you to Morag and John for making me feel so welcome in your home 😁
Adorable hut in a sanctuary, that saves animals from the cruelty of animal agriculture. Happy animals, able to life out their lives without exploitation, abuse, rape or murder. Their animals include sheep, chickens, cows, pigs, donkeys, goats, turkey and more🐑🐏🦃🐐🐓🐷🐂❤❤ The hut is so cosy and is equipped cutlery, kettle, microwave, toaster, plant milk, tea, coffee, breakfast cereal and biscuits. One of the owners (Morag) happily gave us a tour, whilst feeding the animals and answered so many of our questions. This was so amazing and really appreciated since they are so busy looking after so many animals!!💚 I could not recommend this place enough. Please support this sanctuary!💚x
Fantastic little place to stay at a great price. Very friendly and get to meet and feed all the animals. Very peaceful location with everything you need and Ofcourse all vegan. All profits helping to fund the running of the sanctuary itself. The animals are also very friendly and great fun. My second stay and I will definitely return!
One of the loveliest places we’ve stayed in. We’ve been three times now and adore it. It’s so peaceful and it’s wonderful to be surrounded by so many brilliant animals - such characters!
Really enjoyed our stay! The Hut is lovely and comfy and cosy and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful - highly recommended if you want to escape the city for a bit of rural tranquility. It was great to get the chance to meet the animals too - Francisco the pig especially - he definitely melted both our hearts 🙂 Only wish we could have stayed longer - will definitely be back!
A fantastic two night stay that we would happily have made longer, if there were available dates. A brilliant location to get away from everything, but less than 10 minutes’ drive to get provisions if required. Having seen pictures of the hut I was apprehensive as it looks small. It is small but not to the point where it poses any sort of problem, it’s a cracking wee place. Toilet and showers are located in a short 20 or so yards away, both immaculate.
The animals were without exception absolutely brilliant to be around (even Leonard the Turkey, who likes to make it know to visiting males, via puffing himself up and huffing away, that he’s the top dog/turkey) It’s obvious they are well looked after and very happy and content in the sanctuary. That is all down to the fantastic work John and Morag do, excellent hosts and genuinely nice people. Even when we narrowly avoided taking out Morag and Francisco with a stray frisbee. Visit, go online and support this lovely place.
I had a wonderful two night stay. It was wonderful to see fully grown pigs up close. I learnt so much about pigs, goats and cows that I didn't know. I have been vegan a long time and spending time so close to animals that are loved and safe is completely different to being close to animals that are surrounded by fear. Such a restful happy location. The hut is comfortable and has everything you need to whip up a quick meal.
