The space
This is an amazing place to unwind, be creative and enjoy the silence and the stars. Hidden down a long track yet only 10 mins from shops, you’ll feel like you’re in another world. Restored with original materials and methods from a ruin and considered by many to be the best restoration in Wales. Almost everything is sourced from the valley - the oak beams, hazel in the wattle and daub walls and even the wool in the curtains all came from the hillside. Even the water comes from a spring and tastes beautiful.
Inside, the cottage is much bigger than it looks in pictures and is full of antiques and nice touches. The kitchen is very well equipped (NutriBullet etc) the cast-iron bath holds two with a view of the sunset and the fireplace will keep you warm no matter what the weather! In winter this is boosted by a new underfloor heating system.
It’s ideal for a romantic couple but also works well for families and small groups - actually waking up on the sofa bed near the stove is rather special!
Outside the new south-facing hot tub and picnic area has an amazing view of the mountains - you can see the Preseli Mountains 40 miles away in Pembrokeshire! There is also acres of beautiful garden, a dedicated bonfire area if you want one and a stream that runs just behind the cottage. Red kites and buzzards swirl over you constantly.
It’s the sort of place that seems to bring out the best in people, if you’re coming a long way then I recommend at least three days to really relax and appreciate it. I have tons of good tips for good things to see from castles to beaches and wildlife.
I can also offer really good vegan meals direct to your door, early / late checkout, flowers on arrival and I’ll accept well behaved cats & dogs too.
You’ve never been anywhere like it.

Things to know
TALK TO ME!
Firstly, if you have a question please ask, I’m very friendly and am unlikely to reply in Welsh! In particular if you’re trying to book same day, have any special requirements or want to book the whole place for a party. It’s all usually possible, just get in touch.
MEAT-FREE POLICY
The most important and only real rule here is that this is a meat-free cottage. Please use this as a chance to try some different plant-based food. Ask if you need inspiration or are missing a key ingredient. There’s recipe books and the kitchen is a joy to cook in. You might appreciate the lambs all the more and hopefully leave feeling refreshed and healthy! I am now also offering home-cooked meals subject to availability - see note below for details.
CONNECTIVITY
There is good 4G signal on EE, Three and Vodaphone although I recommend you try to switch off and enjoy the tranquility.
RESPECT THE ENVIRONMENT
The cottage is powered by green energy and onsite solar panels. Please respect the environment and use the recycling and compost bins. Please leave any food which is still good - I don’t like food waste and someone else might appreciate the ice cream you left behind!!
NEW! EARLY AND LATE CHECKOUT!
For an extra £50 on arrival you can usually have an early check-in (from 11am) and late check-out (up to 6pm depending on bookings) - this effectively gives you an extra day or two of exploring time and is highly recommended!
NEW! DEDICATED BONFIRE SPACE!
Want to be merry around a bonfire with a spectacular view? We now have that option and will give you plenty of wood (and light it if you like!) for £20. A really magical way to see the stars and serenade your loved ones!
NEW! SCRUMPTIOUS VEGAN MEALS!
Back by demand, if I’m on the premises and have the right ingredients (most of the time!!) then you can enjoy a mouth-watering vegan meal made just for you and delivered to your table. Ideal for that first night when you just want to relax. Prices are a minimum donation of £31 per meal (for two of you!) - which will be FAR better than most pub meals etc available locally! My breakfasts are particularly legendary..
NEW! COURSES AVAILABLE THIS SUMMER!
Please ask for current courses. Likely courses involve vegan cooking weekends, yoga and wellness, music creation, wildlife walks, hidden gems and cycling trips. If you’ve got a course idea this place is perfect and your own bed is free - talk to me!
ROBIN’S REALM IS A SAFE SPACE
I extend a warm welcome to other cultures, the LGBTQ community, the disabled and all religions. You won’t be hassled here, the only thing I’m intolerant about is meat!
